Received this post from Quick Sprout the other day about 53 ways to become a better entrepreneur.
Lots of good commonsense advice but worth a read to refresh his points in your mind. The points that really resonated with me were:
50.You’ll learn more from starting your own business, than going to business school.
How true! Too many people spend too much time hunting for the next best thing or analysing things to the nth degree. Don’t get me wrong – before jumping into anything you do need to consider all the risks, benefits and pitfalls. But don’t get bogged down in the details. I have been guilty of this many a time – trying to perfect everything before starting a new project or getting stuck on little details that can be dealt with at a later stage. But you learn the most from just taking the plunge. As Nike says "Just Do It!". Real world experience is the best experience that you can buy.
52.Your competitors don’t have to be your enemies, you can learn a lot from them.
How true – use your competitors for inspiration and motivation. You can learn a lot from what other people are doing in the market place. Take the best of what they do and work it to your advantage.
What are your tips about how to become a better entrepreneur?

Apparently it would take someone 31,000 years to visit every webpage in existence on the web, and that is without any sleep!
Check out the story here: http://tinyurl.com/muqzqr.
Google has already indexed more than 1 trillion pages and that is growing every second. And the stats don’t stop there: Approximately 1.46 billion people worldwide now use the internet which represents about a 16% increase from 2007′s estimate. Not surprisingly, the largest internet population belongs to China which claims to have more users of the internet than the US.
So despite more and more people jumping into internet marketing everyday, these stats just prove that there is more than enough to go around.
So I’m off to set up my next website (I have 6 and counting!) to capture some of this market!

Being a new mom and trying to juggle the housework, bub and forging a career in internet marketing is a real task and a half. Thank goodness that us women know how to multitask, but there are moments that I think “how on earth can I do it all”?
Society today puts so much pressure on mothers to be the ultimate “yummy mummy”. We are blasted with images from Hollywood of actresses having babies and in 2 weeks, shrinking back to their pre-baby size. The pictures of these mothers looking oh-so-stylish whilst having coffee with friends and their designer dressed bubs are burned into our retinas.
So when I received this a blog from the Toilet Paper Entrepreneur about advice to succeed as a mom entrepreneur from other mothers, I immediately devoured it. Sometimes you just have to take a moment and breathe… for your sanity and your family’s sanity!
Read it here.
What are your strategies in dealing with work, life and business?

As I mentioned in previous posts, I am a newbie at internet marketing. In the early days, I spent most of my time (whilst I was on maternity leave – so a good use of time at home!) learning as much as I could about internet marketing.
My first port of call was Niche Profit Classroom. It was a monthly investment of $47 (which they will be increasing to $67/$97 per month on 28 July 2009) and was a great first step for me.
Stacks of videos and tutorials which I devoured over a 3 month period which has led me to setting up my first niche website. But more importantly this opened my eyes to the world of internet marketing and the holy grail of forums, the Warrior Forum.
Problem is, the Warrior Forum is a breeding ground for ideas. Actually, it is TOO good! Information overload is one thing (I find a good night’s sleep does wonders!) but it is more the multitude of ideas that is swimming around in my head.
I need to remind myself to focus on one project at a time until it is at critical mass – that is, it only needs a “little” bit of babysitting each day/week.
So enough with this blog and onto focussing on my project!!

As I have outlined in my previous post, the Law of Attraction is of interest to me. An email about something called a “Mind Movie” has been sitting in my inbox for the last few days. If you are anything like me, you would have a heap of emails from various internet marketing “gurus” in your inbox, waiting to be opened. I have signed up for so many I can’t remember who each person is!
Anyway, I had this email about Mind Movies in my inbox and finally decided to open it. I have to say, the testimonials for this are AMAZING! So I have been completely sucked in.
Basically, Mind Movies takes the visualisation aspect of the Law of Attraction further by actually making a “movie” outo of your goals and dreams. The great thing about it is that there is the program that actually plays your movie in the background of your computer 24/7 – kind of like a watermark, but you can control the opacity and sound. How cool is that?!!
Anyway, apparently you put together your Mind Movie with affirmations and images and this is meant to turbo charge the Law of Attraction.
I am part way through making my Mind Movie so will keep you posted as to whether it actually works! If you are curious, check out their website here. There are bonuses on offer, but they don’t really interest me – its the testimonials that are really amazing, plus they are giving away 6 free mind movies. These movies give you an indication of what Mind Movies are all about.
Stay tuned for my progress!
