Focus, focus, focus….

July 23rd, 2009 — 10:16pm

As I mentioned in previous posts, I am a newbie at internet marketing. In the early days, I spent most of my time (whilst I was on maternity leave – so a good use of time at home!) learning as much as I could about internet marketing.

My first port of call was Niche Profit Classroom. It was a monthly investment of $47 (which they will be increasing to $67/$97 per month on 28 July 2009) and was a great first step for me.

Stacks of videos and tutorials which I devoured over a 3 month period which has led me to setting up my first niche website. But more importantly this opened my eyes to the world of internet marketing and the holy grail of forums, the Warrior Forum.

Problem is, the Warrior Forum is a breeding ground for ideas. Actually, it is TOO good! Information overload is one thing (I find a good night’s sleep does wonders!) but it is more the multitude of ideas that is swimming around in my head.

I need to remind myself to focus on one project at a time until it is at critical mass – that is, it only needs a “little” bit of babysitting each day/week.

So enough with this blog and onto focussing on my project!!

My Mind Movie

July 16th, 2009 — 11:45pm

As I have outlined in my previous post, the Law of Attraction is of interest to me. An email about something called a “Mind Movie” has been sitting in my inbox for the last few days. If you are anything like me, you would have a heap of emails from various internet marketing “gurus” in your inbox, waiting to be opened. I have signed up for so many I can’t remember who each person is!

Anyway, I had this email about Mind Movies in my inbox and finally decided to open it. I have to say, the testimonials for this are AMAZING! So I have been completely sucked in.

Basically, Mind Movies takes the visualisation aspect of the Law of Attraction further by actually making a “movie” outo of your goals and dreams. The great thing about it is that there is the program that actually plays your movie in the background of your computer 24/7 – kind of like a watermark, but you can control the opacity and sound. How cool is that?!!

Anyway, apparently you put together your Mind Movie with affirmations and images and this is meant to turbo charge the Law of Attraction.

I am part way through making my Mind Movie so will keep you posted as to whether it actually works! If you are curious, check out their website here. There are bonuses on offer, but they don’t really interest me – its the testimonials that are really amazing, plus they are giving away 6 free mind movies. These movies give you an indication of what Mind Movies are all about.

Stay tuned for my progress!

Law of Attraction – Where To Start?

July 14th, 2009 — 10:08pm

I haven’t seen “The Secret” which probably puts me in the minority – almost everyone I have known has seen it.

But I have heard of the Law of Attraction. It’s something that has interested me for a while and I am keen on learning more.

There is a tonne of information on the web about the Law of Attraction. So rather than get bogged down in all the courses, books and videos out there, I have decided to go straight to the “source” (or who I consider to be the leading authority).

Based on what I have found, Bob Proctor seems to be the “father” of the Secret and the Law of Attraction. I downloaded some of his videos and came across his book “You Were Born Rich”. Bob Proctor has his fingers in a number of websites promoting his teachings and they all seem interconnected so rather than work out which course to enrol in, I have decided to read his book and then make a decision from there.

Maybe I can ‘manifest’ a direction to take after reading the book!

Stay tuned for further thoughts regarding the Law of Attraction and Bob Proctor’s book. They do say when the student is ready, the teacher will appear…

Instant Gratification

July 12th, 2009 — 11:43pm

It seems that everything in life is focussed on instant gratification. The internet in particular has made this even more pronounced. You can download movies, music and information quickly and immediately. Don’t want to wait for the snail mail to arrive? Then just send an email and receive a response from the other person now. Can’t wait for that outfit to arrive in the stores, then just surf the web and buy it on-line.

We have become so used to getting things right now that we sometimes forget that not everything can be achieved right away.

The same is with internet marketing. There is no “get rich scheme” or “automatic cash machine”. The worst thing you can do is to constantly chase the latest fad, the latest idea/product. The best thing you can do is treat internet marketing as a proper business; put in the hard yards, constantly learn from the best and stay committed to your course of action. Even though the internet has made us used to getting things now, ironically, the old fashioned values of working hard and being focussed applies to creating a successful internet business.

Though I’m still learning the ropes and finding my feet in internet marketing, I believe that if you apply traditional business habits, then you have a much better chance of success than 90% of the people out there that are also in the internet marketing arena.

Ever Think You Are A Failure?

July 7th, 2009 — 11:34pm

I have been a follower of Mike Michalowicz’s ‘The Toilet Paper Entrepreneur’ for a while now and he posted a blog “Ever Think You Are A Failure” earlier this year. When I read it I immediately saved it to my favourites folder for safe keeping.

I dug it up last night for a read and it still really resonates with me.

Check it out here.

Seriously, check it out – it lifted me when I read it and I hope it will lift you as well!
