  1. Ikea shopping list

    July 6, 2011 by Michelle

As many of you may know, we are soon moving house. We get the keys in about 2 weeks so it's all exciting (more room and everything new) but very daunting (lots of money going out of the door and we haven't started packing!).

Instead of focussing on what needs to be done before we move, I am instead taking refuge in dreaming about what we would like to get once we do move!

Having more space is a bit of a danger game.  I don't want to buy things just to fill rooms – I want to get things that make sense and that we actually need. The last thing I want to do is to be 6 months into the house and feel like we have run out of space. Seriously, it is just Boo, myself and the hubby so we don't need a lot of stuff :)

So here are some things I would love to get from ikea:

For Boo – a child size table and chair so that she isn't confined in her high chair anymore

I've always loved this bookcase. And it can be so versatile in its use.

We need a rug in the new home as our living areas are all tiled and in winter it will be freezing!

GISLEV Rug, low pile, grey Length: 195 cm Width: 133 cm

I think these Lack shelves are really really cool. No supportng bars on the outside, it gives a nice, clean look for a really good price!

LACK Wall shelf, black Length: 30 cm Depth: 26 cm Height: 5 cm Max. load: 3 kg

What have you bought at Ikea for your place?

  2. The pot at the end of the rainbow

    June 30, 2011 by Michelle

It has been raining relentlessly but we saw a beautiful rainbow this morning that made all the rain worthwhile! I love how something so simple can remind us of how lucky we are and how blessed I am to have a wonderful family and loving friends.

The rainbow inspired me to find more colour in Winter so I have found these little gems. Hope you like them!

Love this hammock – how wonderful would it be to be in this!

How pretty is this ring? Reminds me of my childhood :)

Adorable and cute beyond mention – oh yes, and that tutu is absolutely gorgeous!

Rainbow Lollipop Tutu W/a free bow. Birthday, Parties, Dress up, Photo Prop, Halloween Costume.

And I have to end this post with something sweet :)

  3. Some things I love

    June 29, 2011 by Michelle

Being Winter always makes me think of grey skies and rain. Hence I tend to prefer blacks, dark greys and browns during this time. But as depressing as these colours can sometimes be, there is lots to love about them too :)

I love the contrast of the leaf to the colour of the dress:

    Folia Dress in Asphalt Gray

    How gorgeous is this pouch?

    Grey linen Zipper Pouch

This fabric necklace would look great with jeans and knee high boots (my staples in Winter!)

Grey, Gold, & Black Fabric Flower Bib Necklace with Vintage Antique Rose Broach

I just LOVE these slippers. Perfect for these cold months.

  4. Things that made me smile…

    June 26, 2011 by Michelle

In the midst of all the winter gloom (yes, I know it is only the first month of winter but I am over the weather already!) I went searching for some things that would pick up my mood.  I wasn't disappointed!

I couldn't believe it when I saw this book for sale! Brought back lots of happy memories of my childhood :)

Harry by the Sea by Gene Zion and Margaret Bloy Graham // Vintage Childrens Picture Book // 1965

Classic- almost makes me want to have another baby so I can put this on him/her!

Cute Funny iPood Baby Onesie Bodysuit 3-6 months 6-12 months

Chocolate – need I say more?

    What a very cool idea!

    What made you smile today?

  5. Rain, rain, go away…

    June 25, 2011 by Michelle

I'm not a winter person at all. The gray skies, gloomy days, the rain and the cold – by the end of the first day of winter I was ready for summer to come back!! Usually I'm in total denial. I'll keep all my summer clothes out in my drawers and refuse to bring out the winter coats until really really necessary. But today I'm feeling like I need to face winter this year so I sought some inspiration from the net and found these gorgeous winter accessories.
