How come I have never seen this before? Apparently all the rage a few years ago, a recipe for no knead bread had done the rounds in blogland.
The recipe looks so simple and I have been wanting to try and make bread for AGES! Stuff the carbs, this recipe looks so good I just want to eat the bread now! Plus the storytelling is amazing – and you definitely have to scroll down to the bottom and read the last bit of the post

from Steamy Kitchen – no knead bread recipe – so simple, even a 4 year could do it!
Once I found that one, I went searching for more. This site great versions of this recipe – from the original, to the 1 hour bread to the no knead bread in a hurry!

Macaroons – from Martha Stewart
I've been given this recipe by one of my friends and the best thing about it? It looks really really simple! I'm not one to spend ages in the kitchen and my cooking skills are not the best. So anything that is quick and easy is my cup of tea!
I'm planning to make this later this week so hopefully it will turn out just right!
Here is the recipe:
Ingredients
- 1/3 cup sugar
- 1 large egg white
- 1 cup unsweetened shredded coconut
- 1/4 cup whole almonds, chopped
- 1/2 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
- Pinch of coarse salt
Directions
-
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Line a baking sheet with a nonstick baking mat or parchment. Whisk together sugar and egg white in a large bowl. Stir in the remaining ingredients.
-
Form dough into eight 2-tablespoon mounds, and drop each onto sheet, 2 inches apart. Bake macaroons until golden-brown on bottoms and edges, about 15 minutes. Let cool on sheets for 5 minutes. Transfer to wire racks, and let cool. Macaroons will keep, covered, for up to 1 week.
If you try it, let me know how it goes!
