  1. Adriano Zumbo

    March 29, 2011 by Michelle

We are HUGE fans of masterchef and no matter how many other TV cooking competition shows come on, none can beat it for drama, creativity and sheer awe. One of the best things to come out of Masterchef is Adriano Zumbo.  He first shoot to fame on the Season 1 of Masterchef and his macaroon tower was one of the most amazing things I have seen.

Since then, his creations have just blown me away and when we were in Sydney recently we made a special trip to one of his shops to try some of his cakes.

    One word. Amazing.

Truly, Amazing (ok, so maybe two words!). We had the ginger macaroons, a mandarin tart and a wasabi eclair. Well worth the wait (there were people queuing to go into his tiny little shop) and heaven on a plate!

Here are some pics of some of his creations… yumm….

     I'm drooling already…

  2. A soft spot for soft toys

    March 22, 2011 by Michelle

I've always loved soft toys (or 'softies' as they are now known) since I was young – this much hasn't changed. But what has changed is my love for handmade soft toys! I just recently ordered one for my daughter from Sophie and Lili in support of the Japan earthquake relief (so I've justified my purchase!).

You can buy her from Sophie and Lili's website here.

Whilst you are there, check out all the other lovely softies on the site. Am feeling like a big kid again :)

  3. Inspired to work

    March 21, 2011 by Michelle

I love looking at other people's workspaces but I'm not sure why! Maybe it's being able to escape into someone else's life for a little while, or fulfilment from seeing other people follow their dreams, but whatever it is, I get inspired from it!

It doesn't matter whether you workspace is neat and tidy, disorganised and unstructured – what captures my attention is how some workspaces just seem to capture the creativity of the person and shows what inspires them. I particularly love spaces that are bright, have lots of pictures/boards and that show things in progress (so we know its a real person!).  Here are some that I found that I hope inspires you as much as it inspired me :)

    From the Scrappy Jedi

    from Paper and Stitch

    from Bright, Bold & Beautiful

    from Frenchie & Flea

    from Beauty meets Budget

Hope you are inspired this week!

  5. T is for Typography

    March 14, 2011 by Michelle

Typography can make or break a brand, a blog or a website. I particularly love typography that tells a story all by itself. And the beauty of typography on the right medium is just spectacular! You can buy fonts but there are also plenty available for free on the web. But i find once I fall in love with a font, then it's game over :)

Here are some gorgeous examples of typograhpy I've found (and some of these are just breathtaking!):

from Ripe Type (and this font is free! Isn't it gorgeous?)

    Nuzzles from Typoragraphy Served

    Fan script from Veer

    from I love Typography

from The People St Claire Studio (I LOVE this font – I can smell the lemon drops now…)

    What fonts have inspired you?
