  1. Happy Valentine’s Day!

    February 14, 2011 by Michelle

Hope everyone had a wonderful Valentine's day! Though my husband and I aren't big Valentine day celebrators, I do enjoy seeing others celebrate, whether it be simply, traditionally or extravagently!

With Valentine's day being on a Monday this year, it does take the shine somewhat off the day and the commercialisation of the day just gets worse every year. But it's the simple gestures or acts that really make it special. Whether it be breakfast in bed, dinner cooked, a single rose or a simple box of chocolates, the simple act of remembering to say "Happy Valentine's Day" that is the most important.

Here are some simple Valentine's Day pics:

    Love heart pancakes from Kaboose

Gorgeous letterpress cards from Paper Lovely

Be Mine Ring from Pamela Susan

Hope you had a lovely Valentine's Day!!

  2. Hopping into the year of the Rabbit

    February 13, 2011 by Michelle

It's been a while between posts. Chinese New Year and all its festivities have caught up with us and we have been busy with the celebrations. We usually have a reunion dinner on Chinese New Year eve and then its 15 days of lots and lots of food! By the end of it all, I'm usually ready to pack up my stomach and take it on a nice long holiday, away from all things fried, sweet and very asian!

Which got me thinking about all things rabbit-ty! (if there is such a word!).  Here are some gorgeous rabbit-ty things I found…

    from Possum Prints

    from Buy Olympia

from Folksy (how clever is this!)

Hope you managed to enjoy some of the fesitivities and may the Year of the Rabbit bring you and your family lots of joy, happiness and love!

  3. Ikea = Heaven

    February 6, 2011 by Michelle

Are you an Ikea-aholic? I definitely am! I usually consider myself a pretty restrained spender but when I go to Ikea I just can't help myself. I came back with these glasses on the weekend – how gorgeous are they? They remind me of the 70s :)

I think it's the gorgeous simplicity of Ikea's design that captures my imagination. Their room designs in particular always look like inviting and exude warmth! And I love how people have taken Ikea items and made it their own (that is always a true mark of how good a product looks – if its shines in a real house, then it's a winner!). Here is some inspiration to start your Monday morning:

    from scraptv.com

    from Apartment Therapy

    from Jessica Claire's world

    from Ikea Hackers

The last site, Ikea Hackers, is truly a remarkable site. See what others have done with Ikea furniture, desks, shelves etc. Very inventive!

And if this has given you the itch to go to Ikea, then hope you are more disciplined then I was!

  4. Glassine Projects

    February 5, 2011 by Michelle

I love the look of glassine packaging. Done well, it can really make a statement. I have been look at glassine envelopes as a packaging option for some jewellery that, together with my friend, we are looking to make and sell. Beautiful packaging is a whole separate topic which is worthy of a separate blog post all together!

Here are some gorgeous glassine packaging/projects I found on the web. How have you used glassine in your projects/business?
