  1. Is that a print I see?

    February 28, 2011 by Michelle

I've been mesmerised by beautiful illustrations for kids recently. I have a firm leaning towards whimsical children prints/drawings – they invoke a sense of nostalgia and simpler times.  I am constantly amazed by how talented artists are! here are some amazing works I found:

    from Slovely

    from Hello Penny

    from Barking Bird Art

    from the little illustrator

Hope you are having an extra special day! :D

  2. Back to Basics

    February 25, 2011 by Michelle

I've made a decision to ditch technology. Not completely, but just in terms of keeping track of personal appointments. My husband has given me his old iphone (that is a story for another day!) but  I am complete iphone-phobe and hate using it.

So I've decided to go back to basics. I bought myself a beautiful little blue moleskine diary from Peters on Kensington (I LOVE their site – again, that is another post for another day!):

I heart moleskin books – it's something to do with the feel of the cover, the thickness of the pages and just the quality of them. I was given a moleskin notebook a number of years ago and once I braved putting pen to their beautiful pages, it was just magic. Like love at first touch…

     Happy writing! :D

  3. In love with Apothecary jars

    February 22, 2011 by Michelle

I've recently fallen in love with apothecary jars. Maybe it's the classic style, or perhaps the beauty of glass, but whatever it is, I really, really want to get my hands on some! Plus there are a multitude of uses for them. Whether it be for a party, a storage jar or with some gorgeous flowers, they are really versatile and look stunning in anyone's home.

Here are some gorgeous settings that I have found on the net:

    from Vintage Pretties

    from Jitta Jack

    from Big Daddy Seashell

    from Wedding Bee

    A sea of gorgeousness! :D

  4. Breakfast = Tick!

    February 20, 2011 by Michelle

I've officially decided it is EXHAUSTING being a mother.

Boo has reached nearly 2 years of age and trying to keep her occupied is a task and a half:

    • Breakfast = Tick!
    • Reading books = Tick!
    • Singing songs = Tick!
    • Play pretend = Tick!
    • Reading more books = Tick!
    • Drawing with crayons = Tick!
    • Morning tea = Tick!
    • Painting = Tick!
    • Lunch = Tick!

And this was only half of my day! For those that have more than 1 child, I take my hat off to you! I admire anyone that decides to have more kids after having the first.

Luckily for me, Boo has gone down for a nap. Tick!

  5. Natural Joy – Wooden Toys!

    February 17, 2011 by Michelle

Bringing natural influences into my daughter's life is very important. Hence, wooden toys are a perfect fit. We were given a gorgeous Melissa and Doug wooden fruit set which she absolutely loves. Plus, it has the bonus benefit of teaching her co-ordination and fine motor skills.

I think the attraction of wood is its natural look and feel. Plastic just doesn't cut it!

Here are some gorgeous wooden goodies I found:

    from the Fairy Ring

    from Imagination Kids

    from Jupiters Child

    from Urban Turn

    Hope you find inspiration today!
