  1. Laser cut magic

    January 30, 2011 by Michelle

I love the gorgeous laser cut designs that are around! From jewellery designs to mobiles and housewares, the intricate and detailed nature coupled with the natural beauty of wood are a perfect combination.  With natural materials becoming more and more popular, I can't imagine this trend disappearing anytime soon.

Here are some swoony worthy laser cut pieces I found on the web:

Like Lace Earrings from Orange Slice

    From Petit Collage

from Future Shelter (from Perth – Yay!)

    from Bird of Play

It always amazes me how talented people are – what will they think of next?

  2. Craving Cushions

    January 29, 2011 by Michelle

We are building a new house (yay!) that will give us more space and hopefully, less clutter than our current place (which is tiny, tiny). So in preparation, I have been looking at furnishings and design trends to see what catches my fancy. Not that we can afford to redecorate immediately, but there is nothing like window shopping, right?!

Cushions are becoming more and more a design statement. If you want to change the look of a room, the right cushions can do that quite easily. Linen cushions especially are all the rage, whether its because of the movement towards more eco-friendly fabrics or maybe its their timeless and classic elegance.

Here are some absolutely gorgeous cushions I found recently:

from Thea & Sami - organic linen cushions

    from Bholu

    from French Style Glamour

    from kainkain

    from Classic By Nature

So what caught your fancy? And are linen cushions your style?

  3. Spoonflower Wonder

    by Michelle

The internet is a marvellous place! I came across Spoonflower a little while ago and marvelled at what it allows people to do. If you ever wanted to design and print your own material, then Spoonflower is for you! There are no minimum quantities and it is printed on natural fabrics. Here are some of the fabrics that people have printed on Spoonflower:

So if you are the creative type (or even if you aren't!) Spoonflower is a unique concept but one that is definitely a lot of fun! Let me know what you created on Spoonflower!

  4. Cake, anyone?

vintage cake stands from the sweetest occasion

Laura Ashley vintage cake stand from budget savy bride

Heart shaped cake stand from coco male

Hope you enjoyed this round up!

  5. Vintage love …

    January 27, 2011 by Michelle

I've never been a vintage lover, but recently I find myself becoming increasingly attracted to all things vintage … from jewellery, to old pieces of furniture, I think it is both the combination of the photography and of a simplier life. Here are some of the recent gems I have stumbled upon:

    from vintage touch

    from card sharks cards

    from felt

    from madison belle

Hope you loved this roundup of vintage items on the web!
