Received this post from Quick Sprout the other day about 53 ways to become a better entrepreneur.
Lots of good commonsense advice but worth a read to refresh his points in your mind. The points that really resonated with me were:
50.You’ll learn more from starting your own business, than going to business school.
How true! Too many people spend too much time hunting for the next best thing or analysing things to the nth degree. Don’t get me wrong – before jumping into anything you do need to consider all the risks, benefits and pitfalls. But don’t get bogged down in the details. I have been guilty of this many a time – trying to perfect everything before starting a new project or getting stuck on little details that can be dealt with at a later stage. But you learn the most from just taking the plunge. As Nike says "Just Do It!". Real world experience is the best experience that you can buy.
52.Your competitors don’t have to be your enemies, you can learn a lot from them.
How true – use your competitors for inspiration and motivation. You can learn a lot from what other people are doing in the market place. Take the best of what they do and work it to your advantage.
What are your tips about how to become a better entrepreneur?

Great post from Work Yourself Up about how to run a successful home based business.
Working from home definitely has its benefits, but has its challenges. Anyone who has worked from home knows how easily it is to get distracted and sidetracked by the unimportant things.
This post has some great advice to anyone that is struggling to cut down their to-do list.

The Snuggie has to be the most ridiculous product ever and it beats me why anyone would want to pay some stupid amount for a blanket with sleeves. How about just putting on a robe or jumper??
And of course, being as ridiculous an idea that ever was, it has raked in the moola. And now… let me introduce… (drum roll please) .. .the baby snuggie!! Is it a double headed alien, or a teletubbie that has mutated??? No… it’s the baby snuggie!!
Seriously, it has to be seen to be believed.
Check it out here: Baby Snuggie. I’m off to try and think of a totally brainless idea and make millions from it…

There are lots of ways of promoting your website and getting it moving up in the ranks of the search engines. One easy way is through backlinking.
Backlinking creates incoming links to a website. The more backlinks a website has, the more it points to its popularity. Backlinks also have "value" – if the backlinks come from high authority sites, then in the eyes of search engines they are highly valuable. Backlinks are considered to be like "votes" for a website and if a highly ranked site has a link to your site, this elevates the significance of the site.
So how do you get backlinks for your site?
There are many ways to get backlinks; article marketing, blog commenting, guest blogging etc. But one of the simpliest ways is using Angela Edward’s backlink packets. Every month Angela sends out a guide to get 30 high page rank backlinks for one low price of $5. It is seriously good value and will do wonders for your niche websites. To really see the power of her backlinks, check out the Warrior Forum as there is a post about her backlinks and the effectiveness of it from people that have bought her monthly guides.
